Computer issues

Well, my computer is kaput! :(

There is a chance for it though...however we have to wait until our household goods get here to run recovery disks.  Thanks to my awesome hubby for recovering my prized pictures and documents off of it though!!!

I miss my "home"

June 19th we moved out of our home in Clarksville and headed to Alabama.  Four months.... FOUR MONTHS!  We've been without our comfy furniture, beds, B's toys, everything.  We've had a couple suitcases each and living in hotels for FOUR MONTHS.  It's wearing on my patience now.  I WANT MY HOME!!!  I love our apartment... I want to make it our home now.  We have lender furniture that is not comfy at all and not "us".  Poor B is bored out his mind with the toys he has and entertaining him is getting harder and harder.  Our latest update on our household goods says we "should hear something mid November" and that it was "likely at port or on it's way to port to be shipped over".  I think I may cry the day it arrives lol.  I don't think I will be able to pace myself and keep myself from wanting to unpack it all at once and not stop until everything is in it's place....b/c trust me, I have been designating places for everything in my head as I walk through our apartment lol.  *sigh*

Oh, and I got my driver's license today :)  Nothing much...actually, it's rather lame... just a card with my name on it really lol.  Minus the blocked out stuff, you get the idea...

I have been driving here before now though.  I have 30 days to get my license and can use my state license until then, but we weren't sure when I would get another chance once hubby goes back to work.

Hello again!

Re-visiting the blogging thing per the requests of our friends and family ;D

A little catch-up... 

We set out on our journey October 5th, prepared for 2 years in Korea!  I'd say the hardest part to it all has been just getting here.  Making the arrangements to keep our little family together the whole time and the long flight are the things that wore on us the most.  We worried about our doggies not being OK'd for travel or how B would do on the 14+ hr flight.  After our eventful trip here (I don't need to go into detail about that again lol)...turns out we love it here.  Well, ok...we haven't even been here 2 weeks so "love" is hard to say, but we've definitely enjoyed ourselves so far.  It has taken some getting used to that you can't just up and go to Target, hobby stores or even Walmart whenever you please, but there are definitely other shopping experiences we enjoy.  Like the little villes and strips on the street.  You can find some interesting things.  

Also, places like Lotte Mart can give you an all day adventure of shopping in its 3 stories of shopping stores (including awesome dollar stores...or 1000 won shops) that are so much better than our dollar stores in the states!

They have escalators there that you can drive your shopping cart right on to and they lock in place.

I'm so fascinated by all that I see that I often forget to take out my camera.  I'm going to try to document more though!

We are trying to take in the language as much as possible.  Thank google for Google Translate App lol!  We are going to get Rosetta Stone software too :)  For now, my goal is 2 words a week and to USE those words.  Our first words have been "Anyeonghaseayo"...which is simply "hello" lol and "Gamsahabnida", which means "thank you".  The words are pretty easy to pronounce b/c they are spelled exactly how they sound but it's just hard to remember them b/c they are soooo long lol.
